Former Kenlake State Resort Park and Lake Barkley State Resort Park Manager John Rittenhouse will be the new Director of Resorts for the Kentucky Department of Parks.

Rittenhouse will oversee the 17 resort parks that include lodges, restaurants and many recreational facilities and activities such as golf courses, marinas and swimming pools.

Parks Commissioner Donnie Holland said Rittenhouse will be a welcomed addition to the parks department staff.

He adds Rittenhouse’s background in state parks and local government will be invaluable for the department.

Rittenhouse served as Park Manager at Lake Barkley State Resort Park and Kenlake State Resort Park between 2004 and now.

He also served as City Administrator for Cadiz.
