
DRAFFENVILLE – Friday and Saturday’s Lady Marshals and Marshals double-headers against district foe Calloway County and Fulton County proved to be successful with both teams sweeping their games.
Friday in Draffenville against Calloway County, the Lady Marshals beat the Lady Lakers 47-30, led in scoring by Briley English with 14, Nikki Fehrenbacher scored 12 and Hannah Langhi with 10 points and 13 rebounds.

The Lady Marshals led 10-6 after the first quarter and 27-16 at halftime. The Lady Lakers closed the gap in the third quarter out-scoring the Lady Marshals by four points to trail 33-16 but a 14-point fourth quarter sealed the 17-point win for Marshall County.

The Marshals won a hard-earned 59-53 win over the Lakers, led in scoring by D.J. Pigg with 17 points, 15 from Dylan Walters and 14 from Aaron Reed. Kamden Price led Calloway County with 17 points.
Trailing 15-11 at the end of the first quarter, the Marshals closed the gap to one point at 25-24 at halftime. The Marshals pulled ahead in the third quarter out-scoring the Lakers by nine to go up 38-30.
Calloway out-scored the Marshals by three in the final quarter but it wasn’t enough to overcome the 8-point deficit of the third quarter.
As a team, the Lakers hit 11 three’s in the game, four coming from Jeremy Darnell while Pigg knocked down three for the Marshals and was a perfect 6 of 6 from the free throw line.

Saturday at Fulton County, the Lady Marshals won 51-10 and the Marshals beat the Pilots 68-50. The Marshals extend their record to 10-5 while the Lady Marshals move to 13-4.
They will play another double-header on Tuesday at Paducah Tilghman. The Tornados are 11-4 and the Lady Tornados are 7-8 so far this season.
