Caryl Compton, 78, of Calvert City, KY passed away at 3:25AM Sunday, December 6, 2015 at her home.
Caryl was blessed to have traveled the world with her family and friends. She loved new experiences and lived a life full of them. She loved to cook, play golf and bridge, work puzzles and entertain friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, aunt, sister-in-law, grandmother and friend. Her wisdom and generous spirit influenced them, and many of her children’s friends called her mom. She inspired courage, optimism, independence and curiosity in all she met with her dignity and class. Caryl was a member of the Calvert City Country Club.
She is survived by her husband, Henry “Bill” Compton of Calvert City, KY; a daughter, Sheren Compton LeBlanc of Spanish Fort, AL; a son, Kenneth W. Compton of Gilbertsville, KY; and her grandchildren, Jay LeBlanc and Michelle LeBlanc both of Spanish Fort, AL.
Caryl was preceded in death by her parents, William Grosh Clepper and Helen M. Clepper.
There are no immediate services scheduled. Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of all arrangements.
