Colleen Burt, 63 of Benton, Kentucky, formerly of Philadelphia Pennsylvania passed away at 2:13PM Saturday, October 31st at Baptist Hospital in Paducah.
Colleen was born on June 21, 1952 in Seattle, Washington. She was the daughter of the late Betty (Hughes) Lorah and the late Nevin Lorah who was in the U.S. Army.
Colleen had a 25-year career as a HR Generalist for Philadelphia Electric Company and was a member of Zion’s Cause Baptist Church in Benton. She was also a lifetime member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Colleen was a passionate quilter, providing many quilts to family, friends, Bags of Love and items for The Hugs Project of Western Kentucky.
Colleen is survived by her husband, C. Philip Burt of Benton, sisters, Barbara Shapiro and Emily Lorah, brother Herbert Lorah, brother in-law Harold Shapiro of Philadelphia, sister in law Kathleen Blank, brother in-law Jim Blank, nieces, Kristin Andrews, Samantha Trueblood and Kelly Blank, and nephew Alex Trueblood.
Colleen was preceded in death by her step-daughter Debbie Burt from Philadelphia.
Memorial Service will be held at 6:00PM Wednesday, November 4, 2015 Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home with Dr. Charles Frazier officiating. Friends may call from 2:00 PM until 6:00PM Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home.
