An early morning truck crash took out the traffic signal at the intersection of US 68 and US 641 in Marshall County. The intersection is now functioning as a 3-way stop.

According to Marshall County 911 Dispatch, a truck hit one of the traffic signal supports about 3:30 a.m. and took out the entire signal head array. The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the crash.

According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Traffic Group, the crash caused so much damage to the signal that it will have to be rebuilt from the ground up. That means the 3-way stop will be in place for a continued period.

This is the US 68/US 641 east intersection in Draffenville near King Brothers Market and Marshall County High School.

Motorists should use caution in this area as the 3-way stop will create changes in traffic flow at this busy intersection. Some delays are possible during peak travel periods. Again, this 3-way stop will likely be in place for an extended period while the traffic signal is reconstructed.
