Joseph Boyd Bedwell, 73, of Calvert City, Kentucky passed away at 6:10PM Wednesday, September 24, 2015 at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center at Lourdes Hospital.
Joe had been leading singing in church since he was sixteen years old, and had been the song leader at Holly Hills Baptist Church, where he was a member, until his health would no longer allow it. He retired from the Alucobond Plant in Benton.
He is survived by his wife, Verda Greer Bedwell of Calvert City, KY; his children, Tamara Smith and her husband Rob of Murfressboro, TN, Rhonda King and her husband Reece of Paducah, KY, Brian Bedwell and his wife Robin of Benton, KY, Karen Dykes and her husband Rick of Calvert City, KY, Steve Peck and his wife Ginger of Calvert City, KY and John Peck of Hopkinsville, KY; one sister, Judith Elizabeth Buchanan of Centerline, MI; eleven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cauby Cautez “Ted” Bedwell and Jessie Elizabeth Andrus Bedwell.
Funeral services will be at 2:00PM Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home. Bro. Duane Holland and Bro. John Bedwell will officiate and burial will follow in the Leonard Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00PM until 8:00PM on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home.
