PADUCAH – McCracken County Deputies were dispatched to the area of Blandville Road and Fisher Road for a single vehicle rollover collision at approximately 6:30am Wednesday morning.
The investigation revealed that 37 year old Bailey E. Averitt from Benton was traveling west bound on US62/Blandville Road. Averitt stated the wheels on the right side of his car dropped off of the shoulder of the road. He overcorrected as he attempted to bring the car back on the roadway. As a result, Averitt lost control of his 2006 Chevrolet HHR. The vehicle left the roadway and overturned one time before coming to rest in a field on the north side of the highway.
Averitt was transported by Mercy Regional ambulance to Baptist Health Paducah for incapacitating injuries. Averitt was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.
Travel was restricted to one lane for approximately 30 minutes for the investigation and cleanup. Also assisting on scene was the Concord Fire Department.
