Robbie Lucille Dunn, 90 of Benton passed away August 19th at her home.
Robbie was born in Sharon, Tennessee in 1925 and her family moved all over West Tennessee during the Great Depression. She followed her parents to Ohio during World War II where she helped build tank tracks for Patton’s army. Robbie met and married Jimmy Dunn right after the war and they moved back to West Tennessee to own and operate a business “Oak Heights.” They relocated to Benton for Jimmy’s job with Texas Gas in 1950. Robbie was a member of First Baptist Church in Benton for 63 years. She taught 3rd grade Sunday school for many years. She was a homemaker who made a great home.
She helped her son operate the Gold Gallery for 32 years in Benton. She was a great mom who helped her children whenever they needed it. She had such a sense of humor and style and lightness in life. She loved First Baptist Church, her many friends and her family. We all miss her being a part of our lives, but look forward to seeing her again.
Robbie was preceded in death by her husband James Wendall Dunn, her parents Elma and Clifton Farmer and Dewey Norwood.
Robbie is survived by her son, Tommy Dunn his wife April Dunn and their children Sam and Mattie, all of Benton. Also surviving is her daughter Margo Walker and her husband Jimmy Walker and Mrs. Walker’s daughter MaCall Key, all of Ames Iowa.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday August 23, 2015 in the chapel of Collier Funeral Home, with Rev. Don Wilson and Rev. Mark Doom officiating. Burial will follow in Marshall County Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held between the hours of 10:00 am and 2:00 pm on Sunday August 23, 2015 at Collier Funeral Home.
