Dorothy Jean Steury, age 86, of Calvert City, KY, died Saturday, August 1, 2015, at the Calvert City Convalescent Center in Calvert City, KY. Mrs. Steury was retired from the Marshall County Board of Education where she taught elementary school and was a member of Calvert City Church of Christ.
She was the daughter of the late Robert F. Waller and the late Ruth (Stratton) Waller. She is also preceded in death by one brother: Paul James Waller.
She is survived by her husband: Ralph Steury of Calvert City, KY; one daughter: Kate Leonard of Benton, KY; one brother: Robert Milton Waller of Henderson, TN; three grandchildren; Sarah Cagle Simpson of Humboldt, TN, Dr. Ben Leonard of Calvert City, KY, and Leigh Olivia Leonard McCutchen of Murfreesboro, TN, and two great grandchildren: Travis Simpson of Humboldt, TN and Avery Green Leonard of Calvert City, KY.
Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Funeral service will be at Collier Funeral Chapel at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, August 5, 2015, with Jamie Leonard and Dr. Ben Leonard officiating. Interment will be at Benton Cemetery, Benton, KY.
