William Franklin Beasley, 77, of Calvert City, KY passed away at 9:30PM, Friday, July 3, 2015 at Lake Way Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a battle with progressive supranuclear palsy.
He served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corp aboard the USS Spiegel Grove and in Beirut, Lebanon and was retired from Continental General Tire. He was a member of the Rosebower Baptist Church and attended Palm United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Gottschalk Griggs Beasley of Calvert City, KY; his daughter Belinda Beasley Barnes of Calvert City, KY; his grandsons, Dustin Dale Henderson and Austin Lynn Barnes both of Marshall County, KY; his stepson, Jon Christopher Griggs of Marshall County, KY; two sisters, Joetta Goode and her husband G. Dale Goode of West Melbourne, FL and Kathleen Haley of Indianapolis, IN; and several nieces and several nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Willard G. Beasley and one sister, Boverda Beasley Rudolph. His parents were William Levi Beasley and Maydell Bogard Beasley.
Funeral services will be at 11:00AM, on Monday, July 6, 2015 at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home. Rev. Bob Cain will officiate and burial with military rites will follow in the New Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00PM until 8:00PM on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home.
