Wayne Spere Washburn, 92, of Benton, KY passed away at 1:35PM Friday, May 29, 2015 at Calvert City Convalescent Center.
He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of River of Grace Fellowship and worked as an automobile mechanic at the Ashland Service Station in Calvert City.
He is survived by one daughter, Sheila Collins of Benton, KY; two sons, Danny Washburn of Benton, KY and Weldon Washburn of Henderson, TX; one sister, Belva McKendree of Benton, KY; ten grandchildren; twenty one great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Steven Dale “Grub” Washburn; one daughter, Rebecca Henson; two grandchildren; one sister, Thelma Culp and four brothers, Johnny Russell Washburn, Milton Washburn, G.W. Washburn and James Franklin Washburn. His parents were Gelia Washburn and Susie Ham Washburn.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM Monday, June 1, 2015 at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home. Dr. J.T. Parish and Rev. Robert Garrard will officiate and burial with military rites will follow in the Briensburg Cemetery. Friends may call after 10:00AM Monday, June 1, 2015 at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home.
