Mrs. Calistine Heath Duncan, age 92 of Gilbertsville, KY, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015, at Christian Care Center in Kuttawa, KY after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Born Monday, October 30, 1922 in Marshall Co, KY, she was the daughter of the late Roy Cox and the late Nonnie (Copeland) Cox.
Calistine graduated from Draughns Business College formerly of Paducah. She retired after 20 years of service as plant secretary of ISP Chemicals, Calvert City, KY, and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church for 81 years.
She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother.
Surviving are her husband of 31 years, Waymon Duncan, one daughter, Patsy Guess of Kuttawa, KY; two sons, Michael Heath, wife Mona of Champaign, IL and Chris Heath, wife Roxane of Benton, KY, 4 grandchildren, Heather Mays, husband James of Gilbertsville, KY, Mary LeMaster of Benton, KY, Jefferson Heath of Paris, TN, Andrew Heath of Benton, KY; 4 great-grandchildren, Heath Mays of Sikeston, MO, Malorie Mays of Gilbertsville, KY, Annabelle Mays of Gilbertsville, KY, Olive LeMaster of Benton, KY, 2 great great grandchildren, Ryder and Parker Mays of Sikeston, MO, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Lawrence H. Heath, her siblings, Roscoe Cox, Earline Johnson and Joseph Albert Cox.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church in Gilbertsville. Rev. Franklin Skaggs and Rev. Charles LaChance officiating. Dennis Monroe and Connie Copeland will provide music. Interment will follow the service in the Bethel Cemetery, Gilbertsville, KY. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, KY.
