Marshall County Hospital, Foundation and Auxiliary recently awarded academic scholarships to three Marshall County High School graduates. Recipients were: Rachel Northcutt, Dax Parker and Rachel Prange.
The Marshall County Hospital, Foundation and Auxiliary each fund a scholarship annually to a deserving and qualified student. Qualifications include taking the health career course of studies offered at MCHS, maintaining an overall “B” average, and an “A” average in health career curriculum. Students must plan to pursue studies in a health related career.
Once again, the MCH Auxiliary group voted to fund a scholarship to a qualifying senior that met the same criteria as the recipients of the hospital scholarships. “We are fortunate to have a generous group of volunteers that donate to the hospital and the community in so many ways,” stated Marica White, MCH Public Relations Director. Funds raised from their various fundraisers throughout the year support this effort.
“We are excited to offer scholarships to these most deserving recipients,” said Phyllis Blackwell, Chief Clinical Officer at Marshall County Hospital. “It is important that MCH be proactive to ensure that qualified and competent people are entering a health related field of study. Marshall County High School does a great job of preparing their students, through the health careers curriculum, to further their studies in a health career. We are proud of these students and wish them well.”
