Kentucky State Police launch annual 'Cram the Cruiser' holiday food drive

SantaFRANKFORT – The Kentucky State Police has kicked off its fifth annual ‘Cram the Cruiser’ food drive this weekend. Food collection sites have been established at all 16 posts throughout the state and at the agency’s headquarters location in Frankfort.

MCHS Star Bank team raises funds to help local children in need this Christmas

DSCN0492DRAFFENVILLE - The MCHS Star Bank recently held their annual Powder Puff football tournament. This tournament allows girls from the school, freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors, to participate in a friendly game of football. The money raised, $760, will be donated to the local charity - the Rotary's Toys for Kids Program.

Helping others makes fines disappear! Fine Forgiveness Week kicks off at Marshall County Libraries

cansMARSHALL COUNTY - Take the opportunity to save a little money and help out local families at your local Marshall County Library branch as Fine Forgiveness week starts today and runs through the 22nd. Get rid of your late fees by helping the Marshall County Needline provide meals for families during the holidays! Bring in nonperishable food items during the week of Nov. 17 and have your fines erased.

4-H kicks off annual 'Clover' fundraising campaign

4hMARSHALL COUNTY - In 2013-14, over 2,000 Marshall County youth were exposed to some form of 4-H whether in a club, school enrichment program, 4-H Camp, or other. To help provide these 4-H programs, the Marshall County 4-H Council kicked off their 2014-15 4-H Clover Campaign last month. And the Council needs the support of our community more than ever to provide for our youth!

Turkey Shoots set to run through the end of the month at American Legion Posts

turkeyCALVERT CITY – Turkey shoots will be running through the end of November at American Legion Posts in the county at both the William A. Doyle Post 236 and American Legion Post 144 in Gilbertsville. Post 236 is holding contests from 6 to 8 p.m. each Friday night at the shooting range behind the post, located at 25 Little John Lane, off Ky. 95 between Calvert City and North Marshall Middle School.
