Commercial vehicle spill in Aurora leaves load of emulsified chicken parts on roadway

spill1AURORA - A commercial vehicle carrying emulsified chicken parts dumped part of its load today while traveling through Aurora. According to officials on scene, the truck, owned by Owen Transport out of Russellville, apparently made a sudden stop at the intersection of US High way 68 and KY 402, causing the load to “slosh” out of the containers onto the roadway.

Sheriff's deputies seize $20,000 in marijuana plants from Benton residence

marijuana-drug-arrest1BENTON - For the second time in the past two weeks, members of law enforcement have seized marijuana plants from a local residence.
According to police reports, Deputy William Strader went to Old Olive Road in reference to a complaint that marijuana was being cultivated. Upon making contact with the subject, Deputy Strader noted he was very cooperative and admitted there was marijuana growing on the property, leading Deputy Strader to the plants located behind his residence.

Robert S. Bridges, 37, of 305 High Street, Dover, IL was arrested on July 22, 2014 by Officer Glenn Pritchard for DUI 1st offense. He was also charged with speeding (72/45), reckless driving, failure of owner to maintain required insurance 1st offense, failure to produce insurance card, and disorderly conduct 2nd degree.
