Turn lane project on US Highway 68 set to restrict traffic to one lane this week

DRAFFENVILLE - A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans to restrict traffic to one lane on US 68 near the entrance to Marshall County High School on Wednesday and Thursday, July 23 and 24.

MARSHALL COUNTY - The future of the Purchase Parkway and US Highway 62 intersection is still up in the air according to Kentucky State Transportation Cabinet District 1 Chief Engineer Mike McGregor, who gave a brief update this past week to the Chamber of Commerce.
On Saturday July 12th Deputy Jason Lane received a call from dispatch in reference to a female subject causing a disturbance at 4th Street in Hardin. The female subject was kicking the front door wanting in the residence. Deputy Lane located the subject on the front porch manifestly under the influence of alcohol.
Antique tractor show coming to Calvert City's Old Park first weekend of August

CALVERT CITY - Old tractors, antique engines, restored farm trucks and just about everything in between will be on display on Friday, August 1, and Saturday, August 2, 2014 in Calvert City’s Old Park for the annual “Walk in Time” tractor and old engine show. The admission is free to everyone and everyone is invited to come to the park which is located on 5th Avenue across from the Calvert City Country Club Golf Course.

BENTON - “Nick has always been dauntless,” Mindi Murray says of her 19 year-old son who has been legally blind from birth. It’s a condition she adds that has “defined his entire life.” Born with multiple birth defects such as Coarctation of the Aorta and PDA (Patent ductus arteriosus), Nick underwent heart surgery and another procedure where his esophagus was attached to his stomach requiring a T.E. Fistula repair - all by the time he was just two months of age.
