LOUIS - On a picture-perfect spring day Wednesday, the Marshall baseball team walked onto the field at Busch Stadium following the Cardinals-Reds game in their opening home series of the 2014 MLB season to play Hillsboro, Mo., the first of several high school games to be played on the big league field this season.

Two five inning 11-1 victories for Marshals in Big Orange Classic

chasebrightDRAFFENVILLE - Marshall baseball hosted the Big Orange Classic Friday and Saturday with the host Marshals coming away with two 11-1 wins over Clayton, Mo., on Friday and Caldwell County on Saturday.
Friday against Clayton, the teams were tied 1-1 until the Marshals big 10 run 5th inning, picking up the five inning win on just 5 hits with 5 errors committed by Clayton.

Two wins, two losses for Post 236 in Junior Legion State Tournament

chasebrightDRAFFENVILLE - Miller Park in Draffenville is the site of the 2013 Junior Legion State Tournament with six teams vying for the state title. Marshall County's Post 236 kicked the tournament off against Mayfield on Thursday at 2:00 coming away with a 23-6 victory.

Post 236 Juniors split games with Paducah Post 31

scribnerPADUCAH - Tri-County Post 236 Junior Legion team split games with Paducah's Post 31 Tuesday at Brooks Stadium in Paducah. Post 31 led 1-0 until the third inning when Cody Clark hit a two out double that brought in base runners Dalton Morton and Justice Beal followed up by a triple from Blake Johnson that brought in Clark for a 3-1 lead.
