Murray dominant in 4th District Championship win over Lady Marshals

michaelamanley1MURRAY - Taking an early 5-2 lead and trailing by four at the end of the first quarter, the Lady Marshals didn't seem to settle in from that point on with Murray going on to lead by as much as 26 points in the game, avenging their 4th District Championship loss at Marshall County last year to the Lady Marshals, to win the title 53-32.

masonwooten4MURRAY - It's been a while since a Marshall County boy's basketball team has not advanced to the 1st Region Tournament, 25 years to be exact, but it's bound to happen, especially with the strong 4th District teams all battling year in and year out for that coveted spot in the District Championship game.

tournamenttimeLast week's snowy, icy weather wreaked havoc on the last week of regular season games in Western Kentucky as the 4th District Tournament is set to begin Monday at Murray High when the #2 Lady Marshals (20-9) tip-off against #3 Calloway County (7-21) at 6:00. The winner of this game will advance to the championship game and play #1 Murray High (25-3) on Wednesday at 6:00.


Benton Midde team celebrates season and tournament successes

6thgradegirlsBENTON - A group of Marshall County 6th grade ball players and one 7th grader have had a very successful run this season starting with the Kentucky Middle School State Tournament in Lexington, a tournament comprised of competitive teams from the Central and Eastern part of the state that were finishing up their competitive seasons in the fall.

Davis sets three-point record, Marshals fall to St. Mary

miyahdavis1PADUCAH - The Lady Marshals beat St. Mary Saturday night 81-13, but that wasn't the big stat of the night. Miyah Davis hit 9 of 17 from three-point range setting a new single game record, surpassing the old record held by Kala (Morton) Cary with seven. Davis' nine three's plus a two-point field goal led the Lady Marshals with 29 points.
