DRAFFENVILLE - Making the trip north from Panama City Beach, FL, the Arnold Marlins were back for the Gunner's Magic Train Classic for the first time since 2012 after playing in the first three of six Gunner Classic's. Their only wins to date came in 2010 against Lyon County and Daviess County, but that would not be the case in 2015.
DRAFFENVILLE - Nothing seemed to go right for the Marshals against McCracken County in the first quarter of the Gunner's Magic Train Classic game on Friday, only putting up two points in the quarter on free throws by Collin Travis.
The game turned around for the Marshals in the second half, with regulation not being enough needing an overtime period to pull out a 51-50 win.
DRAFFENVILLE - Marshall County (14-6) and McCracken County (4-14) girl's teams met for the second time this season in the 6th Annual Gunner's Magic Train Classic at Marshall County High School. The Lady Marshals beat the Lady Mustangs in their first meeting at McCracken County 49-23 on December 12th and took the win Friday, 59-43, never trailing in the game from the opening basket.
HOPKINSVILLE - Hopkinsville (4-12) did not play like a team with just four wins Tuesday, controlling the game in almost every area, but the Lady Marshals after trailing the majority of the game, managed to pull off a 44-42 win.
Lady Marshals Head Coach Joseph Simmons felt his team overlooked Hopkinsville and were out-hustled and out-worked.
"It's a win", Simmons said. "That's the only positive we can take out of this."
