Win over St. Mary sends Marshals to semi-finals against Mayfield

landontaylorMURRAY - Taking the court Saturday following a week long delay, the Region 1 boy's quarterfinal games began with the Marshals tipping off in the final game of the evening at 7:45 against St. Mary following three games earlier that saw McCracken County beating Calloway County 55-48, Graves County over Carlisle County 57-37 and Mayfield advancing with their 55-48 win over Hickman County.


Lady Marshals advance to semi-finals, play Tilghman on Sunday

alyssabarnardMURRAY - After the ice, sleet, snow and numerous schedule changes, the Region 1 Tournament finally got underway Friday at 4:30 with the Lady Marshals tipping off in the first game of four girl's quarterfinal games, against Ballard Memorial, cruising to a 57-26 win and advancing to the semi-finals on Sunday to play Paducah Tilghman who handily beat Fulton City 76-16. The Lady Marshals have beat Tilghman twice during the regular season, the most recent win came on January 31st by one point.

Region One Tournament updated brackets and ticket information

basketballinfoUPDATE: The Region One Tournament has postponed play until Friday with all four girl's quarterfinal games played that day starting at 4:30. The boy's quarterfinals will be played on Saturday.
MURRAY - Region One Tournament play will now begin on Friday with the Lady Marshals playing Ballard Memorial in the first of four games at 4:30. All four boy's quarterfinal games will be on Saturday. The Marshals will play in the final game against St. Mary at 7:30.

DISTRICT CHAMPIONS: Marshals beat number one seed Calloway by 10

boysdistricttourneyDRAFFENVILLE - Since their February 8th loss to Murray High, the Marshals have been on a seven game winning streak that includes Thursday's 57-47 win over Calloway County for the 4th District Championship.


DISTRICT CHAMPIONS: Lady Marshals beat Murray by 20 for the title

ladymarshals-districtDRAFFENVILLE - At the end of the third quarter, the Lady Marshals had a one point 24-23 lead over Murray High in the 4th District Championship game. What happened after that is the stat of the season as the Lady Marshals held Murray to one fourth quarter point, out-scoring the Lady Tigers 20-1, on their way to a 44-24 District Championship win.


Marshals to play Calloway in 4th District title game Thursday

austinrentfrow2DRAFFENVILLE - From the opening tip, the Marshals played with purpose - their post-season was not going to end yet. With the memory of a recent loss to Murray High at home on February 8th, the Marshals first loss to the Tigers dating back to December 2001, the Marshals trailed just once at 5-3, took the lead back at 13-10 after a couple ties and led the remainder of the game, winning 68-52 at the final buzzer to advance to play Calloway County in the 4th District Championship and secure a spot in the Region 1 Tournament.
