Tyree earns second straight Golfweek Junior Tour win in Nashville

baileytyree1NASHVILLE, TN  - Bailey Tyree won a three-way playoff on the third hole to earn her second straight victory in the Girls 15-19 division at Hermitage Country Club.Tyree fired rounds of 75-77—152 to finish regulation tied with Ashni Dhruva and Rachel Heck.

Golf team celebrates season at banquet

golfgirlsCALVERT CITY - On Monday, November 17, the Marshall County golf teams held their annual banquet at the Calvert City Country Club. Senior Cayce Hendrickson and sophomore Quinn Eaton were recognized for their selection to the First Region Golf Team.

Cayce Hendrickson will take golf talents to Mizzou, making it official on National Signing Day

caycehendrickson1DRAFFENVILLE - Cayce Hendrickson has been a very important part of the success of the Lady Marshals golf team for several years with her leadership and talent and will take that to the next level after signing to play golf at the University of Missouri on National Signing Day Wednesday.


Tyree wins Golfweek Junior Tour event in Bowling Green

baileytyreeBOWLING GREEN - Marshall County High School junior, Bailey Tyree, won the Golfweek Jr Tour held this past weekend at Bowling Green Country Club. On Saturday she had the low round with 76 and an 8 stroke lead going into Sunday's round shooting 82 on Sunday, but was able to hold on for the win by 4 strokes over Casey Van Meter of Bowling Green.

Golf, volleyball name 1st Region Teams

allregionDRAFFENVILLE - More Marshall County athletes of fall have been named to All-Region teams in their sport. The golf team's Quinn Eaton was selected to the 1st Region Team team along with Jake Morgan (Graves), Drake Stepter (McCracken), Avery Edwards (McCracken), Dawson Fowler (Graves), Cullan Brown (Lyon), Carter Sholar (Trigg), Hayden Cash (Graves) and Ryne Choate (Fulton City). Lyon County's Cullan Brown was selected as 1st Region Player of the Year.

Former Marshall County and Murray State golfer qualifies for PGA Tour event

patricknewcombMURRAY - Former Murray State golfer Patrick Newcomb fired a 6-under-par 66 Monday and survived a five-way playoff to qualify for his first PGA Tour event this week at The McGladrey Classic in Sea Island, Ga. Newcomb shot the round of his life at Brunswick Country Club, but as he played the back nine, qualifying for his first PGA Tour event was the furthest thing from his mind.
