Marshall and McCracken tie, win over Murray improves record to 8-0-1

calebmcneelyDRAFFENVILLE - Going into Saturday's game at McCracken County, the Marshals were 7-0, and are still undefeated after their 1-1 tie with the Mustangs after 80 minutes of soccer.

Marshals unbeaten at 7-0, ranked 18th in the state.

davidpenneyDRAFFENVILLE - Marshall County boys sit atop the Region 1 standings with a record of 7-0, the only unbeaten team left in the region and broke into the top 20 in the state poll at 18th as of Monday.
The Marshals last two games have been shutouts, 3-0 over Calloway County and 10-0 over Fort Campbell.

Wagner steps up for Berea College as goalkeeper

garrisonwagnerBEREA - Former Marshall County soccer player and 2013 Region 1 Most Valuable Player, Garrison Wagner, is continuing to excel on the soccer field at Berea College but not in the position he's most accustomed to this season.
Garrison got the call from his coach the morning of their first scrimmage asking him to fill in as goalkeeper after Berea's All-Conference goalie became academically ineligible.

Lady Marshals fall to Graves County in double overtime and penalty kicks

camijonesDRAFFENVILLE - Tied 1-1 after 80 minutes of regulation play, the Lady Marshals and Lady Eagles of Graves County went into their first five minute overtime followed by a second five minute overtime still locked up at 1-1. The game went into penalty kicks with Graves County putting four in the net, besting the Lady Marshals 4-3 for the 2-1 win.

Marshals beat Eagles 5-4 in thrilling overtime

tannerellenbergerDRAFFENVILLE - A hard-fought game at Mayfield on Monday where the Marshals came out on top 5-4 was followed up on Tuesday with the first home game of the season against arch-rival Graves County.
The memory still stinging from last year's 3-2 loss in overtime the first time the two teams met August 27th to the 1st Region Championship loss to the Eagles at Jetton Field in October, the Marshals had plenty to motivate them.
