Baptist Healthcare announces new outpatient, ambulatory center coming to Calvert City

bapCALVERT CITY - Baptist Health of Paducah announced plans on Tuesday to open a new outpatient health and wellness center in Calvert City. According to a release on the announcement, Baptist Health purchased 9.87 acres in Calvert City at Exit 27 off I-24/I-69, planning to build a comprehensive ambulatory center while beginning to offer services in a smaller facility later this fall at 4754 U.S. Hwy. 62.

State's Childcare Assistance Program once again open to new applicants after budget shortfalls limited access

childcare-620x400MARSHALL COUNTY – Nearly 300 Marshall County children received daycare subsidies in 2012 according to statistics from Kentucky Youth Advocates. However, in 2013, the state's Childcare Assistance Program, CCAP, was closed to new participants and the Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS) was forced to lower the income eligibility for recipients from 150 percent to 100 percent Federal Poverty Level (FPL) as a result of an $86.6 million shortfall in the fiscal year 14 budget of DCBS.

Week-long action packed Family Week schedule now available, begins Sept. 6

080MARSHALL COUNTY - A week-long of fun has been scheduled as the annual Family Week event is set to begin Saturday, September 6.

After nearly a decade of service to region, H.O.R.S.E.S Inc. issues urgent plea for help in finding new location

amandaPADUCAH - Since 2005, H.O.R.S.E.S. Inc. has helped those with physical, developmental and emotional challenges through therapeutic riding programs - changing the lives of those, who in many cases, had not responded to any other type of treatment.
After nearly a decade of dedicated service to the region, H.O.R.S.E.S. Inc. is asking for the community’s help to move forward. “I guess you could say we are at a crossroads,” said board member and organization treasurer Debbie Gadlage.
