Marshall County Sheriff's Office Lieutenant graduates Criminalistics Academy

mattBENTON - Marshall County Detective Lieutenant Matt Hilbrecht recently graduated from the Kentucky Criminalistics Academy, Crime Scene Technician Course, a 10-week program designed to train investigators in collection and processing of crime scene evidence.
Hilbrecht has worked at the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office since 1999 and has worked in investigations for eight years, having supervised the Detective Division for several years - first as Detective Sergeant and later as Detective Lieutenant.

Marshall County Daily Presents a new Series 'The Church in History'

tom2MARSHALL COUNTY - Beginning this Friday, October 24, we will bring you the writings of Reverend Tom Hiter and his bi-weekly column 'The Church in History.'
The Reverend Dr. Tom Hiter is a Marshall County native who grew up in and around Fairdealing and attended Fairdealing Elementary School. Later, he attended South Marshall High School, graduating in 1964.

New Branding Initiative taking off, Chamber of Commerce follows suit in name change

Project1BENTON - The Marshall County Chamber of Commerce has officially followed suit in the new branding initiative, changing their name to the Kentucky Lake Chamber of Commerce in Marshall County.

This is the third local organization, including the offices of Tourism and Economic Development, to make the switch since branding survey results came back a few months ago.
