Operation Preparation helps guide youth through college/career readiness

OperationprepBENTON - Operation Preparation is a joint effort of the Kentucky Department of Education and the Department of Workforce Development and provides a powerful opportunity for schools, students, parents and communities to collaborate in the process of effective advising and focus attention on the importance of planning for college and/or career.

New round of FREE GED classes starts April 13th, register now through April 3rd

adultedMarshall County Adult Education will be starting the next round of Free GED classes right after Spring Break on April 13th. Registration is NOW through April 3rd.  We don't have much time left before the end of the year, so act QUICKLY! No matter what your schedule, we have something that will work for you...mornings, afternoons, evenings, off-site classes, and even study from home.

Spend an evening enjoying great music at Just Jazz-n-Desserts

jazzanddessertsJust Jazz-n-Desserts, a night of delicious treats and great jazz, will feature the Marshall County High School Jazz Ensemble, Faculty Combo and Paducah Jazz Ensemble on Tuesday, March 31st at 7:00 at the Marshall County High School Commons.
Tickets for this event are $8 in advance or $10 at the door. Tables may be reserved for $100 which will include eight seats and media advertisements.

South Marshall Middle School student to compete in National Geographic Society State Bee

benBENTON - South Marshall Middle School student Ben Samson has been selected by the National Geographic Society to be one of the semifinalists eligible to compete in the 2015 Kentucky National Geographic State Bee, sponsored by Google and Plum Creek. The contest will be held on Friday, March 27 in Bowling Green.

Marshall County Preschool/Head Start registration begins March 10

headstartRegistration for the Marshall County Preschool/Head Start program will begin March 10th, at the preschool office, 905 Joe Creason Dr., Benton. Parents will need to bring their child’s certified birth certificate, proof of 2014 income (including all child support, disability, and school grant/scholarship information), child’s social security card, child’s medical card/private insurance card, and custody papers, if applicable.
