Marshall County Preschool/Head Start registration begins March 10

headstartRegistration for the Marshall County Preschool/Head Start program will begin March 10th, at the preschool office, 905 Joe Creason Dr., Benton. Parents will need to bring their child’s certified birth certificate, proof of 2014 income (including all child support, disability, and school grant/scholarship information), child’s social security card, child’s medical card/private insurance card, and custody papers, if applicable.

Benton Middle School Student Government Association sponsors Special Olympics Fundraiser

dressBENTON - The Benton Middle School Student Government Association sponsored a dress-up week to support the Polar Plunge. Students were asked to donate $1 per day for participating. Polar Plunge is a fundraising event that supports our Special Olympics program in Marshall County and Western Kentucky.

Benton Middle students return to the Moon at Challenger Center

bms4BENTON - Sixth grade students in Mrs. Murphy's Science classes recently returned to the Moon in their trip to the Challenger Center in Paducah. The mission was a complete success as students performed STEM activities in order to conclude their missions.

Pat and Bobby Cole Scholarship applications now available

scholarshipsScholarship applications for the Pat and Bobby Cole Scholarship given by the Marshall County Republican Women are available at Marshall County High School and Christian Fellowship High School. Senior girls interested in applying, should contact their counselor to get the application. Requirements include graduating from a Marshall County High School with at least a B average, be a registered Republican or if not 18 be willing to register as a Republican when 18, and be active in both school and community activities. A postmark of April 1, 2015 is necessary to be eligible for consideration.
