doronlambSHARPE - Big Blue Nation and Kennedy's Fan Shop School is Cool Tour rolled through Marshall County Wednesday with stops at Sharpe Elementary and Jonathon Elementary. Special quest, Doron Lamb, of NBA's Orlando Magic and former University of Kentucky player, spoke to the students about the importance of keeping up your school work while you pursue your athletic and extra curricular interests.

Steele receives 2013 Region 1 Forcht Bank/KHSAA Sportsmanship Award

noahsteeleLEXINGTON - Thirty-two regional winners were selected as part of the 17th Annual 2013 Forcht Bank/KHSAA Sportsmanship Recognition program, and were eligible for consideration for the statewide scholarship. Each regional winner will receive a $350 scholarship, an award from Forcht Bank and the KSHAA, and an invitation to attend the Awards Banquet on Sunday, April 28.

Nearly 200 participate in CFSB's 28th Annual Tater Trot

tatertrot2DRAFFENVILLE - CFSB's 28th Annnual Tater Trot 5K and one mile fun run was re-located this year to Mike Miller Park with just under 200 runners and walkers participating.
Leighton Lavey posted the best overall time in the men's race out of the 15-19 age group with a time of 18:52 and Josie Lavey in the 15 and under age group for the women in a time of 22:03.

28th Annual Tater Trot Saturday at Mike Miller Park

tatertrotDRAFFENVILLE - Over 100 runners and walkers participated Saturday in CFSB's 28th Annual Tater Trot held this year for the first time at Mike Miller Park.
The race began at 9:00 with runners of all ages taking to the course in the chilly morning air.
