GREENVILLE - On a chilly, rainy evening at Muhlenberg County Friday, the MCHS girl's track team walked away with a Region 1 Championship while the boy's were Region 1 Runner-up. Marshall County track coaches, Cory Westerfield and Jared Rosa, are extremely proud of the teams performance and how well they represented our school and community at the meet.
DRAFFENVILLE - Two Marshall County school records fell at the Twilight Relays held at Carrol Traylor Stadium Tuesday night. Skylar VanMeter set a new record in the high jump with 6'8" and Cody Gregory in the Pole Vault with 13'3". Marshall County's field event athletes have been at the top of their form this spring with great results at each meet.
DRAFFENVILLE - It was a record-setting day at the Marshall Middle School Invitational on Monday as the 4 x 800 relay team of Joseph Reed, Jackson Reed, Kensley Bowerman and Tristan Prange set a new school record in a time of 9:33.35, beating the old record by five seconds and shattering the old meet record by 22 seconds. It was the fastest 4 x 800 middle school time in the state this year.
CAPE GIRARDEAU - Marshall County competed in the Cape Central Invitational on Saturday, April 20th, and as the only Kentucky team there, saw a lot of new competition.
"Nearly everyone on the team set a personal best in either their individual event or in a relay among some really good competition", Head Coach Cory Westerfield said.
A small contingent of four girls and 11 boys competed last Saturday, April 13, at the Hopkinsville Invitational track meet. The boy's managed to beat out 10 teams with their small group to finish in fourth while the girls took eighth out of 13 teams. Fort Campbell girls and Kenwood boys took first place honors in the meet.
