Marshall County tennis makes big gains this season, advance players to Regional quarter-finals

allen-jonesLONE OAK - Marshall County's tennis team made great strides this season, posting more wins and sending a single and double's team to the Regional quarter-finals, something that hasn't been accomplished in quite some time.


Tennis team continues to improve with Regionals one week away

nikkifehrenbacherDRAFFENVILLE - Back on the court after a break from competition over spring break, the Marshall tennis team won their matches over Calloway County, lost to McCracken County and split with Murray High.

Tennis team seeing big improvements this spring, new team members adding to success

elizabethpadgettDRAFFENVILLE - Marshall County tennis kicked their season off on March 17th against Paducah Tilghman and are five matches into their season. The girl's team has won 2 of 5 matches while the boys have won 3 of 5 with two matches where both girls and boys swept over Mayfield and Calloway County.

Shanahan and Forbis advance, girl's season ends in first round

russellshanahan1PADUCAH - Friday at Paducah Country Club, the boy's Region 1 Tennis Tournament first round was held with Marshall advancing a doubles team to the second round at Lone Oak on Monday.


Badminton may be his game, but MCHS exchanage student shines on tennis court

peter0DRAFFENVILLE - Thanawat Boonpichetwong, better known as Peter to MCHS students, is a sophomore exchange student from Thailand this year and has been a valuable player for the boys tennis team this season.
"Badminton is my sport", Peter said. "I played badminton at my school and we played other schools just like you do here in tennis and we have lots of tournaments during the school year."


Tennis team heads into Regionals on win streak

shandrasullivanDRAFFENVILLE - Playing their best tennis of the season this past week, the Marshall County boys team has won their last four matches of the regular season against  Mayfield, Reidland, St. Mary and Community Christian Academy while the girls have won three of the last four with a loss to Mayfield.
