Chase Bright signs letter of intent to play baseball for Kentucky Wesleyan College

chasebright1DRAFFENVILLE - Marshall County High School baseball player, Chase Bright, signed his letter of intent Friday to play for Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro. Kentucky Wesleyan plays in the Greater Midwest Athletic Conference.

Dylan Givins to play baseball for SEMO, signed Wednesday on National Signing Day

dylangivinsDRAFFENVILLE - Dylan Givins officially committed to Southeast Missouri State University Wednesday on National Signing Day to play baseball for the Redhawks. Dylan signed his letter of intent with SEMO, a member of the Ohio Valley Conference.

Post 236 ends season in Kentucky Junior Legion State Tournament at Miller Park

brandonblossomDRAFFENVILLE - Miller Park was the site last weekend for the Kentucky Junior Legion State Tournament Thursday through Saturday.
Ashland Post 76 won the championship on Sunday with a 16-2 win over Paducah Post 31, a rematch of last year's championship game between the two teams when Paducah got the best of Ashland .

Seventh inning rally comes up short for Marshals in loss to McCracken County

wootenPADUCAH - Rain delays backed up the Marshall County-McCracken County 1st Region semi-final game close to a 10:30 p.m. start following St. Mary's 1-0 win over Calloway County to advance to the championship game tonight.
Despite a 4-run 7th inning, the Marshals fell to McCracken County 7-5 as the game wrapped up at 1:00 a.m. at Paducah's Brooks Stadium.


Pairings set for 1st Region Baseball and Softball Tournaments

baseballsoftballPairings for the first round of the 1st Region Baseball and Softball Tournaments were announced today. Both will begin on Monday, May 26th with the baseball tournament taking place at Brooks Stadium in Paducah and the softball tournament at Calloway County High School.


Marshals hold off Calloway to win 4th District title

baseballdistrictMURRAY - A 4-run second inning gave the Marshals baseball team their first district title in five years, holding off Calloway County's late charge for the 4-2 win.
The inning began with singles by Mason Wooten and Cody Clark and a walk by Chandler Rogers which loaded the bases with one out. Dylan Givens brought home Wooten with a single, keeping the bases loaded up when Dalton Morton took a walk sending the base runners around for the run by Clark for a 2-0 lead.
