Northcutt handles state meet improving six places from 2011

Rachel Northcutt ran in her second straight state meet Saturday in Lexington.

LEXINGTON - After finishing 21st at the regional meet in Owensboro, Marshall County High School sophomore Rachel Northcutt, qualified for the second straight year for the State Cross Country Meet Saturday at the Lexington Horse Park.

Rachel Northcutt will represent Marshall County at the KHSAA State Cross Country Meet in Lexington.

OWENSBORO - Marshall Cross Country Head Coach Chris Kerrick has sent a runner to state every year since his tenure as coach began in 1999 and this year is no exception. Sophomore Rachel Northcutt will represent Marshall County in the state meet for the second year in a row on November 10th in Lexington at the Kentucky Horse Park.

Marshall County Middle School boys took first at the Western Kentucky Meet of Champions.

RUSSELLVILLE - In their final meet of the season, the Marshall County Middle School Cross Country team made quite a statement at the Logan County High School's Western Kentucky Meet of Champions by taking first in the boy's race and second in girls.

HOPKINSVILLE - Marshall County's Middle School cross country runners are making a statement in the last couple of meets with their strong performances of late. At the Christian County Invitational this past Saturday, Marshall County Middle School boys took third while the girl's team placed eighth.

MCHS Cross Country runner Collin Gunn, placed the highest among the boy's team at the Marshall Country Cross Country Invitational Saturday.

DRAFFENVILLE - On the last Saturday in September, the 32nd Annual Marshall County Invitational Cross Country meet was held on a crisp, cool morning at Marshall County High School with 22 teams in attendance for the elementary, middle school and high schools races, with medals awarded for the Top 25 finishers in each race.
