Marshall County Deputies responded to a report of an accident with injuries shortly after 5 p.m. on Saturday afternoon at the 47 mile marker of the Purchase Parkway. According to information obtained on scene, two vehicles traveling southbound on the Purchase Parkway collided when the driver of a PT Cruiser (identified as unit 1) attempted to pass an elderly couple driving a Ford Taurus. The driver of unit 1 apparently failed to make a clear lane change and clipped the rear end of the Taurus, sending both into the median. Two were transported to Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah with minor injuries. Marshall County Deputies were assisted by Palma Briensburg firefighters.
