DRAFFENVILLE - Saturday at Reed Conder Gymnasium, the Lady Marshals played Marion, IL, cruising to a 67-30 victory over the Lady Wildcats extending their record to 14-5 for the season.
At the 3:45 point in the first quarter, the two teams were tied up at 8-8 but from that point on it was all Marshall County with Taylor Meadows putting nine straight points on the board followed by a three pointer from Mariah McKenty at the buzzer that gave the girls a 24-10 first quarter lead.
The Lady Marshals out-scored Marion 18 to seven in the second quarter for a 42-17 halftime lead, holding the Lady Wildcats to just two points in the final quarter for the 37 point victory.
Meadows led all scorers with 21 points and McKenty had 15 points along with four assists and four steals.
The Lady Marshals JV and Varsity squads were scheduled to play at Hopkinsville tonight and those games have been cancelled.
