HOPKINSVILLE - Marshall County High School swimmers opened their 2012-2013 season Saturday in the Rick Cohn Invitational at Hopkinsville High School.
Veteran swimmer, Austin Gordon, is starting the season off in great form by setting a new school record in the 200 Individual Medley with a time of 2:26.28, breaking his own record by nearly four seconds.

Breaking into the top 10 individually for the girls was Jessica Anderson placing 10th in both the 50 and 100 Yard Freestyle and Abby Spicer 10th in the 100 Yard Backstroke.
The boys had five individual top 10 finishes from Austin Gordon placing 7th in the 200 Yard Individual Medley and 10th in the 100 Yard Backstroke. Paul Hudson placed eighth in the 100 Yard Freestyle and seventh in the 100 Yard Backstroke. Grant Park placed eighth in the 50 Yard Freestyle.
The team is coached again this season by Kevin Stephens and will be in the water again in competition on December 3rd at the Paducah Athletic Club.
Christian Fellowship entered two swimmers, Bettye Starkey and Jarrod Warren, in the meet with Starkey placing 44th in the 50 Yard Freestyle and 27th in the 100 Yard Freestyle. Warren placed 26th in both the 50 Yard Freestyle and the 100 Yard Backstroke.
