E-mail Print PDF

altSHARPE - Not once, but twice now thirteen year-old Tristin Spindler is fighting the battle of his life following the recent diagnosis of Ewing Sarcoma of the lungs.
Spindler battled the disease a little more than a year ago, and had gone into remission prior to once again receiving the news that the cancer had returned.

Months and months of chemotherapy, radiation, stem cell treatments and blood transfusions - along with trips to and lengthy stays at Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville have not only taken a toll on Spindler, but on his family, as well.
Aside from the mental and emotional strains, the financial difficulties have been mounting.
As a result, friends, family co-workers and school affiliates have worked to host fundraising events including one very large event beginning tomorrow, Thursday Nov. 15 and extending through the 16th.
Beginning at 6:30 a.m. and running until 5 p.m., a benefit yard sale will be held at the Calvert City Civic Center in Calvert City. There is also a chance to win $250 through the purchase of 50/50 tickets, winner to be announced on the 16th.
All proceeds raised during the two-day event will go to benefit the Spindler family. If you have not taken the opportunity to support Tristin in his battle with cancer, please take a moment and click 'Like' on his Facebook page at;fref=ts.
His family is hopeful he can get to 1,000 likes soon to show support for Tristin as he continues his fight with this disease.
