BENTON - A Benton couple has been arrested and charged with distribution of pornography after police discovered they were operating a sex club in Ballard County.
According to published and police reports, Tim Lewis and his wife Stacey were arrested after complaints regarding possible alcohol sales at a La Center business led police to find much more.
Police reports indicate numerous items of sexual paraphernalia were discovered after a search warrant was executed at the business known as La Center Events, located at 303 Broadway.
A large-screen television was reportedly playing adult films at the time deputies arrived. Tim Lewis is accused of accepting applications for a group called the ‘Paducah Affinity Club’ where individuals paid a $75 membership fee and $5 admission to events.
La Center Events was opened at the address following the closure of TJ’s BBQ, whose owners, Jeremy and Tana Carroll, were also charged in connection with the club for their part in collecting fees at the door.
The Lewis’ are scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 19 to answer to the misdemeanor charges. The building was reportedly closed due to health code violations.
