Murray State a big part of ESPN network schedule

E-mail Print PDF
altThe Murray State men’s basketball team will again be a big part of the Ohio Valley Conference television partnership with the ESPN family of networks in the 2012-13 season.

The Racers will be included in four games of the seven the OVC will feature on ESPNU this season including a pair of road games at Southeast Missouri State (Jan. 5) and at Tennessee Tech (Jan. 24). MSU’s home contests against Austin Peay (Feb. 2) and Belmont (Feb. 7) will also air on ESPNU. Additionally, a “wildcard” game will be selected from the games on March 2 for air on ESPNU, the Racers host SEMO on that day.
The 2013 OVC Tournament is also schedule to be on air with the semifinals airing on ESPNU and ESPN3. The first semifinal at 6 p.m. CT will be on ESPNU with the 8 p.m. semifinal airing on ESPN3 live and on ESPNU delayed at 12:30 a.m. CT. The OVC Tournament championship game will air (March 8) at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
The announcement of more Racer Basketball on the air is welcome news that goes with the fact that MSU will be featured when they participate in the Charleston Classic in Charleston, S.C. MSU’s first game in the event against Auburn (Nov. 15) is on ESPN3 at 7 p.m. CT. MSU’s second game in the tournament against St. John’s or College of Charleston (Nov. 16) will air at either 4:30 p.m. CT on ESPN3 or 6:30 p.m. on ESPNU. MSU’s third game opponent (Nov. 18) will come against Baylor, Boston College, Colorado or Dayton and could air on one of the ESPN channels.
Since its launch in 2005, ESPNU has become a catalyst in promoting college athletics including basketball. The 24-hour television network airs more than 650 live events annually including more than 300 men's and women's basketball games.
More MSU Basketball games will be televised this season through the Racer TV Network with the schedule to be announced later. Racer TV Network games are carried locally by Time-Warner, Mediacom, Murray Electric cable systems.
