altBENTON - After being indicted by a Marshall County Grand Jury on charges of two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, two counts of first-degree assault and DUI, Cory Burkeen was in court on Monday for arraignment.
The young man, accused of being intoxicated on a mixture of prescription medications the evening his vehicle collided with another carrying four Marshall County teens, including Shane McKenty and Landon Lovett, pleaded 'not guilty' alongside his public defender James Burkeen.
Marshall County Circuit Court Judge Dennis Foust accepted the defendant’s plea and scheduled Burkeen’s next hearing for Dec. 17 at 8:30 a.m.
