One dead and two injured following head-on collision involving motorcycle Friday

altBENTON - One person was killed and two others injured early Friday afternoon in a head on collision involving a motorcycle.
Emergency responders were called to the scene of the collision just before 4 p.m. on KY 408 East (Egners Ferry Road) near the Bryant Road intersection.
According to police reports, the driver of a red 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle, whose name is not being released pending notification of family, was westbound on KY 408 along with passenger Cynthia J. Clark-Pesce, 39, of Benton.
The motorcycle crossed the centerline in the middle of a curve and struck a white 1996 Cadillac driven by 50 year-old Scharla Helton, of Benton.

Both occupants of the motorcycle were ejected in the collision. The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene by the Marshall County Coroner's Office.
The passenger of the motorcycle was airlifted to Vanderbilt Hospital by Air Evac and listed in critical condition.
The driver of the Cadillac was treated and released at Marshall County Hospital. The accident is under investigation by the Marshall County Sheriff's office collision reconstruction team. The Sheriff's office was assisted on scene by the Kentucky State Police, Benton Police Department, Fairdealing-Olive Volunteer fire department, Marshall County Ambulance Service and Marshall County Rescue Squad.
