Internationally known college basketball analyst, author and philanthropist Dick Vitale will bring his inspiring message of dedication, education and perseverance to Marshall County High School on Monday, November 26th. Vitale will be speaking at Marshall County’s beautiful Reed Conder Gymnasium.

After several successful years as a college basketball head coach, Vitale was head coach of the NBA’s Detroit Pistons in the 1978-79 season. After that, Vitale became a college basketball analyst for ESPN and was on the air for their first college basketball broadcast in December, 1979.
Vitale’s thorough knowledge of the game is brought forth in an enthusiastic, passionate-sometimes controversial-but never boring style. To many fans, Vitale is the voice and face of college basketball. In 2008, Vitale received the sports highest honor as he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
While Vitale is best known for his work on college basketball telecasts, he is also a successful author, columnist and motivational speaker. Vitale is also a dedicated philanthropist and his work on behalf of charitable organizations has raised millions of dollars.
People of all ages and backgrounds will gain knowledge and inspiration from Vitale’s message of dedication, hard work, perseverance and integrity.
Vitale’s appearance at Marshall County High School will serve as a fundraiser for the Marshall County Athletic Foundation. The Marshall County Athletic Foundation was created almost a decade ago with the mission of assisting Marshall County student-athletes through scholarship programs and facility and equipment upgrades. Over the years, the foundation has given thousands of dollars in scholarships to deserving student-athletes as well as purchasing training equipment to be used by all student-athletes at Marshall County High School.
Tickets for the event will go on sale to the general public November 3rd from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at CFSB Bank in Benton and Murray. If any tickets are left after that time they can be purchased in the Marshall County High School Athletic Office. Reserved floor seats are $40, reserved lower gym chair seats and bleachers are $30 and upper gym general admission bleachers are $15. Special ticket packages are also available which include priority seating, reserved parking, a meet and greet with Mr. Vitale, an autographed copy of Mr. Vitale’s book and a photo opportunity.
For more information, contact Marshall County High School Athletic Director Jeff Stokes at (270) 527-6714.
