West Kentucky Allied Services holds Board Elections meeting

E-mail Print PDF
BENTON - West Kentucky Allied Services, Inc., is a private non-profit agency that provides services to low-income families and individuals in the community.
The agency works with these families to assist them in working toward self-sufficiency.
We also provide much needed services such as the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance program.  In the winter months this program is available to assist them with both a Subsidy to help them with their energy costs and in January we provide a program for emergencies to keep them from having service disconnected. The agency also provides a Housing Service called the Weatherization program.  This program is an air infiltration program utilized to assist them with reducing their home energy costs.  It is a free service to those who qualify.  This is just a sample of some of the services the agency provides. West Kentucky Allied Services, Inc., has a tri-partite Board of Directors which is made up of 1/3 Public Officials, 1/3 from the Private Sector, and 1/3 Low-Income Representatives.  The agency is in need of a Board Member from Marshall County to represent the Low-Income Sector of the Board.
A public meeting was held to hold the election of this Board Member on Oct. 18, at 4 p.m. at the Marshall County West Ky Allied Service office at 1107 Poplar St. Benton.
To be eligible to serve on the Board of Directors you do not have to be of low-income, but you must be nominated and voted in by low-income in your community. If you need any further information feel free to contact Mr. Scott Daugherty, CSBG Outreach/Social Worker at (270)-527-9766. “This project funded, in part, under a contract with the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services with funds from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Community Service Block Grant Act.”
