Closure on KY 996/Metropolis Lake Road in western McCracken County for rail crossing work starting October 7

PADUCAH, Ky. (Sept. 30, 2019) — A contractor for P&L Railroad plans close a section of KY 996/Metropolis Lake Road in western McCracken County starting Monday, October 7, 2019.

KY 996/Metropolis Lake Road will be closed near the 5 mile marker starting Monday, October 7, to allow rail crossing upgrades. This closure along KY 996/Metropolis Lake Road is just south of the Heath community and the KY 725/Woodville Rd intersection.

KY 996/Metropolis Lake Road is expected to close at this site around 7 a.m., CDT, on Monday, October 7. This closure for rail crossing upgrades is expected to be in place for about five days.

There will be a marked detour.

The contractor, P&L Railroad, and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will attempt to provide timely updates as work progresses at this location.
