A Benton teenager was injured last night when her truck struck a utility pole in McCracken County.

McCracken County Sheriff’s Office reports Breonna Logothetis, 17, of Benton, was driving a 2001 Ford F-150 south about 9:50 p.m. Friday on Clinton Road, when she dropped off the right shoulder of the road as she rounded a curve. Logothetis entered a ditch and was unable to regain control of the vehicle; police say she struck a utility pole before the truck came back to a rest in the road.

The utility pole was broken off, police say, and in danger of falling into the roadway, prompting officials to close traffic to the site. The road was closed for about three hours to allow for accident investigation and replacement of the pole.

Logothetis was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries deemed not life-threatening.

Lone Oak Fire Department, Mercy Regional EMS, McCracken County DES and Handley’s Towing assisted on scene.
