BENTON – Marshall County High School student Logan Byrd was recognized for being the youngest farmer in the state of Kentucky by the Marshall County Fiscal Court on Tuesday. He is a member of FFA and is a Farms to Food Banks grower selling Grade 2 commercial produce purchased by the Kentucky Association of Food Banks (KAFB) which is then distributed, at no cost, to the region’s food pantries, needlines and soup kitchens.

Judge/Executive Kevin Neal presented Logan with a framed certificate commissioning him as a Kentucky Colonel by the Commonwealth of Kentucky saying Logan is, “making selfless contributions to those in need.”

Logan was recently honored by the PADD office who is a regional distribution center for the USDA commodity food programs.
