Joe Marshall Sheppard, age 70 of Hickory, KY died on Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY. He was a member of Clarks River Baptist Church, a veteran of the US Army serving in Vietnam, and member of the Disabled American Veterans. Born Thursday, May 2, 1946 in Paducah, KY, he was the son of the late Charlie Sheppard and the late Lucille (Lovett) Sheppard. Surviving are his wife, Pat (Langston) Sheppard of Hickory, KY, sons, Tom Sheppard, wife Dora of Symsonia, KY and Dan Sheppard, wife Niki of Paducah, KY, brothers, Shirley Ray Sheppard of Benton, KY and James Sheppard of Paducah, KY, sisters, Margaret Wood of Hickory, KY, Linda Camper of Calvert City, KY and Mary Ann Warner of Paducah, KY, and grandchildren, Dusty Lummus, Hunter Sheppard, Jonathan Barnes, Cassidy Collins, husband Levi, Dillon Sheppard, Courtney Holder, Emilee Sheppard, and Jayci Sheppard. A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Clarks River Baptist Church with Jared Baker, Jim Boyd, and Jeff Collins officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Clarks River Cemetery, Symsonia, KY. Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th St., Benton, KY 42025. An additional visitation will be held at Clarks River Baptist Church on Sunday, August 21, 2016 from 1:00 p.m until the funeral hour.
